Following are Important Meeting & Training Dates for the 2012 season.  Please note...additional meetings, scrimmages and mechanics sessions may be scheduled and added to this calendar at a later date.  Please continue to check this calendar throughout the year.

Note:  All members must attend a minimum of five clinics (including the two mandatory meetings and a mechanic's session, if it is your turn or you choose to attend a mechanic's session).

February 2012

27- (Capital) First Meeting.  Mandatory for all new, apprentice & Associate members (Cohoes HS-7pm)

29- (North) First Meeting.  Mandatory for all new, apprentice & Associate members (Queensbury MS-7pm)

 

March 2012

01- (South) First Meeting.  Mandatory for all new, apprentice & Associate members (Catskill HS-7pm)

05- (Capital) General meeting, new rules, uniform, etc. Mandatory for all members (Cohoes HS-7pm)

07- (North) General meeting, new rules, uniform, etc. Mandatory for all members (Queensbury MS-7pm)

08- (South) General meeting, new rules, uniform, etc. Mandatory for all members (Catskill HS-7pm)

11- (All areas) Mechanics session @ Town of Colonie Recreation Center, (9am-12noon). Mandatory for Groups 1,2 & 6.  See bottom of page for directions to site.   

12- (Capital) General instructional meeting (Cohoes HS- 7pm)

14- (North) General instructional meeting (Queensbury MS- 7pm)

16- (South) General instructional meeting (Catskill HS- 7pm) 

17-18  Adirondack Dome Play Days (Queensbury).  Instructional HS scrimmages for 1st through 4th yr officials and those officials being evaluated to move to active status.  These dates may change.  If you are attending these sessions, please confirm first.

19- (Capital) General instructional meeting.  Collect ASA tests.(Cohoes HS- 7pm)

21- (North) General instructional meeting.  Collect ASA tests. (Queensbury MS- 7pm)

22- (South) General instructional meeting.  Collect ASA tests. (Catskill HS- 7pm)

26- (Capital) HS test given. Mandatory for all NYSSO umpires (Cohoes HS- 7pm)

28- (North) HS test given. Mandatory for all NYSSO umpires (Queensbury MS- 7pm)

29- (South) HS test given. Mandatory for all NYSSO umpires (Catskill HS- 7pm)

 

April 2012

02- (Capital) Make up meeting.  HS test reviewed (Cohoes HS- 7pm)

04- (North) Make up meeting.  HS test reviewed (Queensbury MS- 7pm)

05- (South) Make up meeting.  HS test reviewed (Catskill HS- 7pm)

 

May 2012

Don't forget... to vote for the Aileen Durrant Award winner and the Don Willey Award winner.  Both can be done via email (see the Awards link at the left margin).  The Aileen Durrant Award may also be done by mail (form available on Links and Forms tab).

 

June 2012

03- Business Meeting (all areas), 7pm @ Village of Colonie Recreation Center.  Payment of dues, assignors' fees and election of officers, presentation of Don Willey award, end of HS season remarks.  This meeting is mandatory for all members... all areas!   See bottom of page for directions to site.

09- NYS HS Championship Tournament Semi Finals and Finals (all classes) @ Adirondack Sports Dome, Glens Falls.  VOLUNTEERS NEEDED.  Anyone interested in scorekeeping or announcing at the tournament should contact Aileen Durrant.

 

September 2012

7-9-  NYSSO State Umpires School (Saratoga Springs).  The annual NYSSO instructional school for HS officials across NYS.  It is a prerequisite to officiating NYS high school championship games.   The school has limited availability for each section of NY.  If interested, notify Peg Squazzo as soon as possible.

Directions to Colonie Recreation Center (site for mechanics session & year end business meeting:

Route 5 (Central Ave.) going west.  3 lights past the Northway, there is a cigar shop on the right.  (Central Steak and a Dunkin Donuts is on the left corner).  Turn right here onto Locust Ave.  Make next right, and Village on Colonie Recreation Center will be down there on the right.
